Frequently asked questions
Will this work on my U.S. iPhone from Verizon/AT&T/T-Mobile?
Yes. iPhone XS and newer (2018+) support eSIM. iPhone 14 and newer sold in the U.S. are eSIM-only — no physical SIM tray. Google Pixel 4+, Samsung Galaxy S20+ also work. Your phone must be SIM-unlocked. Under FCC rules, Verizon unlocks automatically 60 days after activation. AT&T and T-Mobile unlock once the device is paid off. Check our
compatibility page for the full list.
When does my eSIM plan start?
When your phone first connects to the local network at your destination — not when you buy it. Buy weeks ahead, install the QR code at home, and it waits for you to land. No activation timing stress.
Is this cheaper than my carrier's international day pass?
Yes — significantly. Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile charge $10-15/day and throttle data after 500MB per day. A 7-day trip costs $70-105 on carrier roaming. Our Mexico eSIM is $9 for the full week. Japan is $19. You save 60-90% per trip.
Can I keep my U.S. number for iMessage and calls?
Yes. Your U.S. SIM stays active for SMS and iMessage. The travel eSIM adds data for your destination. Your friends and family text your regular U.S. number — no one needs to know you're abroad. FaceTime Audio, WhatsApp, and Google Voice calls all work over the eSIM data connection.
How do I actually install the eSIM? Do I need a second phone to scan a QR code?
No — that's the best part. The email has a one-tap install button that opens your phone's built-in eSIM installer directly. No camera needed, no second device, no printing. Other eSIM companies make you scan a QR code displayed on your own screen — which is impossible without a mirror or second phone. We solved that.
What if it doesn't work when I land?
We're based in Hawaii. Email or chat us — we'll fix it or refund you. No chatbots, no 24-hour wait times. Real U.S.-based support.
Can I use this eSIM in multiple countries on the same trip?
Some eSIMs cover multiple countries (e.g., "Europe" covers 30+ countries). If you're visiting multiple destinations, check the country coverage when searching. For a multi-city trip like London → Paris → Rome, a single European eSIM covers all three.
